Benidorm
Benidorm, located about 45km north-east of Alicante, just south of Altea, is one main attraction along the Costa Blanca. Despite its skyscraper skyline, it stands for beach and nightlife. Surrounded by up to 1558m high mountains, Benidorm is perfectly protected against the sometimes cold north winds.
The Benidorm weather does not go below 19°C, even in the winter. In summer, Benidorm is one big party.. With more than 1000 restaurants and over 30 discos, nightlife in Benidorm has everything to offer. With 35,000 beds in Benidorm’s hotels and over 200,000 apartments, Benidorm can more than accommodate the visitors in town. The city is famous for its huge British and Irish community, similar to Torrevieja.
Amongst the places to visit is Benidorm's Casco Antiguo - the old Benidorm city centre. There is not much left from the old centre, so only the San Lorenzo, Santa Fez and San Vicente streets mark the rest of old Benidorm. Benidorm's 2 beaches, the Playa de Poniente and the Playa de Levante are about 5km long in total. Along most of the Playa de Poniente there is a main Benidorm road with heavy traffic passing by. So if you are looking to sunbathe in a quiet and relaxing environment under Benidorm's sun, you should go for the Playa de Levante.
Other interesting tourist attractions, apart from Benidorm nightlife, are the different holiday/theme parks. Starting from Terra Mitica to Mundomar and Aqualandia, all parks offer a variety of attractions especially if you are on holiday with children.
