Churros
The easiest way to describe Churros is to compare them to doughnuts. They are usually eaten for breakfast with coffee or dunked in a thick chocolate sauce. Makes approx. 32 - Serves 4.
Ingredients
275g plain flour
2.5ml salt
550ml water
Oil
Preparation
1. Sift the flour and add salt.
2. Boil water and add to the flour and salt, stirring briskly until it becomes the consistency of thick dough and leave to cool slightly.
3. Whilst still slightly warm, fill piping bag with a fluted nozzle and pipe into 10cm lines.
4. Fry in hot oil until brown and crisp.
5. Drain on kitchen paper and eat.
